Stopped in here for lunch since we were in the area. Steak Quesadilla - Pretty good, but a bit too much onions. Fox's Traditional Special - It came out too well done. My guy said he liked the taste of the sausage, but I've had better. A bit too much onions on this too. I'm also not a fan of the cheese on top of the ingredients type pizza. Waitress was nice though. I saw another couples pizza and there's look very good (not burnt).

Delicious thin crust pizza. Great deal on half-priced Wednesdays (cheese only).

Food was good but stuff seems to be un- attentive to customers. Of course this does not fit the bill for a restaurant if I wanted that I would just order pizza and have it delivered to my house.

Pizza was some of the best my boyfriend and I have had in Oak Lawn. The staff was a bit slow especially for having 3 tables and many people working there. I do recommend the Ruben bites. They were different but delicious!!

Came here on a Friday and i didnt get to try any of the food because they had me and my girlfriend wait 30 minutes before i walked out. Didn't even get a drink order which it would've been nice if i had a couple beers for the wait. Sad i had high hopes for this place since i live just a couple blocks away.

Order Pizza from here and it is always great. Went into the Pub for dinner with wife and Daughter. My wife had the Salmon Dinner and enjoyed it. My Daughter had the Lasagna which she enjoyed. Both of their meals were served hot. I ordered the Prime Rib Melt, with side house salad and fries. The meat was over cooked and cold, the fries were also cold. the salad had wilted lettuce and onion. They took the meal back and heated up apparently. The fries came back, fewer, hot but now also hard as rocks. The meat on sandwich was now hot but roll was now soggy. I left most of it? Waitress didn't even ask how they food was..that tells you something. I have eaten at Fox's in the past and food quality was consistently great. It's not up to what it was in the past. Will continue to order the pizza, but will pass on the rest. Too bad as this used to be a great place to eat and great atmosphere.

Typical sit down family place that needs some updating so it's not so dark and gloomy in here. It almost feels dusty... not really a fan. The italian food is just okay. Nothing fancy, but it is exactly what it is advertised as. I guess I like adventurous food so this is sometimes boring to me. Delicious pasta and pizza but nothing that stands out.

They really do have the best thin crust and it is paper thing which I usually don't like. It gets crowded but it is worth it. There is a bar that is pretty decent sized. Huge parking lot in the back, don't be fooled by the small one next to the place. When they have entertainment it is usually pretty bad. I used to go here all the time when I was younger and loved the food. Was there for the first time in a long time a few months ago and the pizza was still amazing.

When I went here I liked the pizza even though it could have been better. It's an okay place to go to. Reasonable prices.

My mom and daughter and I had dinner last night (March 12, 2014) at Fox's it was my birthday so we were hoping to have a nice dinner but I'm sorry to say that the food was not really all that great. We don't blame the waitress as the restaurant was getting ready for some big party with 85 people and they were due there at 6pm. We arrived at 5pm to an almost empty restaurant. We still left the waitress a 20% tip because she was very nice. We probably should have sent our food back but it took so long for it to come that we didn't want to wait any longer for it. My mom and I ordered the Lemon Rosemary Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli and my daughter ordered the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken parm looked good but the chicken breast was as thin as a piece of paper practically, looked like it was pounded out and flattened with a meat tenderizer, kind of like you would do to chicken fried steak and it was mostly breading and very salty sauce. This is a sad example of what real good Italian Chicken Parmesan should taste and look like. As for the Salmon dish, the fish was not fresh at all, it smelled fishy and tasted just as bad, It's sad that for an $17.99 piece of salmon that it was not fresh salmon but old frozen salmon. The fish was cold as was the very overly salty instant mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were practically ice cold and the fish was barely warm and the broccoli was the only thing that was actually still hot. The appetizer we ordered was the homemade brushetta and the pieces of bread were so full of holes that you couldn't really put the brushetta on it as it fell right through the holes and the chunks of tomatoes were so large, I have never seen brushetta with that large of chunks of tomatoes and it was ice cold like it had just come out of the refrigerator. Brushetta is supposed to be room temperature not ice cold. We ended up spend almost $100.00 for our dinner and my mom insisted on paying even though she is retired and on social security. I have to say that was the worst meal we have had anywhere in a very long time. I realize that maybe the cook staff was extremely busy getting ready for a huge party of 85 people but we noticed that party had just ordered pizzas. What really surprised me the most was the quality of the food. I expected that kind of low quality of food, old frozen fish and chicken Parm that really looked and tasted like cheap chicken fried steak from those cheap family style restaurants not from a place like Fox's. We will not be back there again.

I ordered chicken wings and baked potato soup. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I went to pick up my food they informed me that they were out of the soup. The also gave me overdone wings that were not dipped in sauce! They refused to compensate me at all or replace the soup, just oh so graciously not charge me for the soup the did not give me! Horrible customer service! I think ill stixk to eating pizza there.

I almost forgot what good thin crust pizza tasted like. When one has been weaned on Chicago pizza, whether thin, pan, or stuffed, nothing else will satisfy. I grew up just a few blocks south of Fox's. We could walk there...and also to Palermo's and the now closed carry-out joint, Romeo's. Vito & Nick's was a short ride away. When I lived on the North Side, Gulliver's and Candlelite were my neighborhood haunts. This embarrassment of pizza riches really strikes home now that I live in a city whose pizza options are totally forgettable. So, we found ourselves back in Chicago this past weekend and met a friend at Fox's. It's all the same as I remember, from the bottle-blonde big-haired hostess to the comfy dining room to the pizza. Crispy crust, well-proportioned ingredients, and pieces cut into squares. Part nostalgia, but mostly good pizza (and other food as well) has made Fox's a "must stop" when we're going to be in or near Oak Lawn. I wish they'd open a "Fox's St. Petersburg Pub". The tons of ex-Chicagoans and those who snowbird down here would probably provide enough buzz and business to make this a smasihng success.

Lots older people and the place looks like its dead from the outside due to the dark windows. Thin crust pizza is one of the best in the city however and this alone is worth visiting. Family atmoshpehere with live music at times. You can tell there are lots of regulars. I was intimidated to come in but glad I did.

I do not understand all the fuss about Fox's pizza...I just don't understand. After a good luncheon at Buca de Beppo in orland, my mother (who was in from Florida) and I met my cousins at Fox's in Oak lawn. My mother insisted that she had to have Fox's pizza. We were a party of 17 and ordered salads for some and several enormous pizzas. I heard my cousin mention green peppers, sausage and pepperoni. I could not taste anything but grease. When they brought us our pizza, I wanted to grab a napkin to pat off all the grease. Man, unbelievable! Oh, by the way, the salad was a typical dinner salad and was good. The worst part of this experience was that we were seated in an area that apparently was a walk thru for all the other rooms - cfnstant traffic going back and forth - screaming kids, etc. And to make it even worse, everyone had stinkin' white sox apparel on! Next time my mom comes in, and insissts on fox's. I will insist that we meet at a cousin's house and order delivery...my cousins know better than to wear black and white around me!

When visiting our grandfather on the Southwest side and nobody feels like Top Notch, we get ourselves to Fox's. The main dining room is large and kind of like an uber-generic Bennigan's. What it lacks in design, however, Fox's makes up for in menu variety. I'm partial to the turkey club with waffle fries. The service can be a bit hit-or-miss, and by "hit" I mainly mean "friendly," and by "miss" I mainly mean "cold." They're almost always efficient. Whether that's a pleasant efficiency or a ruthless one varies. All in all, Fox's is a solid spot for lunch, just based on menu options alone. It's not splashy, but it's spacious and the food is above average. For dinner, go early. We ended up there later in the evening once and the live music/schtick made conversation next to impossible. It also made some members of our party nauseous. (Sorry, Dan.)

I grew up eating pizza from Fox's Orland Park. I was visiting family in the Oak Lawn area and decided that I wanted to take a walk down memory lane and indulge in a Fox's pie. We ordered two pizzas - pepperoni and sausage - as well as ravioli, garlic bread and garlic cheese bread. Obviously we had enough food to feed the whole family and everyone left the meal feeling stuffed. I also left the meal feeling underwhelmed. The pizza just wasn't as good as I remembered. Maybe the OP location cooks up a better pizza or the pizza has changed over the years. Whatever the reason, the pizza just didn't do it for me. Coming to visit from Atlanta I have pretty high expectations for any pizza I consume in the Chicago area. The Fox's pie was greasier and soggier than I recall and it was just average overall. I had the same feelings about the garlic bread - it just wasn't as good as I remembered. The ravioli on the other hand was great. I think next time I'm in town and we go to Fox's I will be ordering something other than pizza.

I celebrated a friend's birthday here and was thrilled after she filled out a piece of paper to sign up for emails that she got a percentage off (of the meal) for the amount of years she has lived. That was a neat surprise. I absolutely love the hearty vegetable soup and the hot rolls that come to the table. I'm dreaming of the next time I'll go there and get that! We ordered pizza and I'd agree it is one of the best thin crust pizzas I've ever tasted and I'm really into pizza! Atmosphere was cozy and the vibes in the place felt good that makes me want to return!

Even though I have not eaten here in years, a review popped up on this site tonight. I will admit that I do like this style of pizza and will travel to other pizza joints for similar pizza. But I have had two bad experiences here. The first was a bad pizza that gave me a real bad case of food poisoning. The second was a pizza that they totaly made wrong, they added mushrooms which I'm very allergic to. When I complained they told to bring it back and they would replace it. No money off, no I'm sorry for your inconvienence, and nothing the drive bacl to the restaurant.

I rarely find myself in the south side of Chicago. And even rarer to find myself in a spot like this. I went as part of a large group on a weekend evening. Probably was a mistake. First, the parking lot was jam packed. Second, it seems this place is THE spot for all the senior citizens in the area to eat and hang out with their families. That seemed to make the wait for a table that can seat my group long. We got a good laugh from the hostess that instantly reminded me of Flo from the old TV show Alice. She had some serious big hair going on. Wow. Once we got in, I had a chance to check out the decor. I agree with another reviewer, that the place had the "old fashioned" vibe going full force. And there were, indeed, families everywhere eating. The service was great. And they worked with our requests with a smile. And the food was good. The appetizer combo was yummy. The potato skins were OK, but aren't worth it for the price. Then the pizza came. And I was surprised again. I totally did not expect them to serve a good pizza, but they came through. Their pizza was great. Really. Yummy. If I ever find myself craving pizza on the south side, I'll come back here. Hopefully not on a weekend.

From the north side of chicago, where there is soo much good food. Had a very hard time finding good pizza since I have moved to the south side....until I found Fox's pizza...ooooo, its real good! Tried some of their other food, wont do that again, but the pizza is great!!

The food was good, although I don't remember what it was..The inside is a little special (old fashioned). Somebody was singing some goofy music..Its an ok neighborhood spot.. I'll go back eventually, when I want to splurge on a few extra calories...

A comfy hybrid between a family restaurant and a pub kind of place. Very comfy, very casual. Pizza is a super thin crust, crispy on the edges but starting to sog a bit in the middle. The pepperoni is quite spicy, and they use fresh green peppers and mushrooms. My brother's burger was just all right. Speaking to the beer list: well, they've got the miller and the bud, and the Irish standards: Guinness, harp, smithwicks. They've also got some tasty Jameson-heavy martini drinks. We stayed for a bit of live music, it was a guy and his guitar, and he was quite willing to take requests and generally talented if not a bit corny. Oh! The other neat thing about this spot - if you go on your birthday, they will give you your age percent off of your meal. So If you're 15, they give you 15% off, and if you're 50, yay! You get half off. Neato. In a nutshell - if you're in the area, check out the joint. But don't drive for miles.

Best memory of this place: Coming here with my boyfriend on a Friday in Lent, ordering an extra large thin crust cheese pizza, and devouring it between the two of us in 7 minutes flat. That one instance set the bar so much higher for any other thin crust cheese pizza I've had since. It's the default place to go after funerals in my family as well. For cheap buffet style dining, it's as decent as you can really get for the price.

Come on, take it for what it is: An old-school, South Side eatery that you stop into every time you pick someone up- or get picked up- at Midway. Nobody said it was a gourmet spot. It's organically retro and I for one respect that in this day and age of Chili's, Applebee's and whatever-the-hell Blackeyed Pea is supposed to be! Anyway, the drinks are strong, the wait staff runs the gammut from no-nonsense to pleasant and the food is decent. If you're trying to stay healthful, then consider the half-size portions, like the broccoli pasta. I'll admit that the wine and beer lists suck, but again, take it for what it is! A trip down memory lane for people young and old who appreciate joints. (No, not THAT kind of joint...) Truth be told, I've never had the pizza but that's because I'm originally from Flossmoor and am loyal to Lorenzetti's. Oh and whatever you do, do not miss the blonde hostess at night. Ya gotta see it to believe it! God love her...

My BF and I have boycotted this place. Every Saturday night we would order out from them, even though they're pricey. The last time we did, we tried ordering online to get the 10% discount, only the website doesn't work. When we called the order in and mentioned this discount they gave us a really hard time about it since it's online only - well then fix your freakin website! After 20 min of going back and forth they were going to give it to us, then "all of the sudden" they said they no longer deliver past Kedzie. We're ONE BLOCK past Kedzie. They change their policy, don't notify customers (but they sure still send mailings to us PAST Kedzie) and when we want the discount we deserve after all the business we gave them, their rules change? Screw this place. There are plenty of other burger/pizza places in this area to bother ordering from them.

I heard great things about this place, so my wife and I ordered a pizza for delivery. Whoa that was expensive! But hey, it was a special occasion and we had heard great things. It arrived in a greasy paper bag. That was different, but I thought it was no big deal. Then I took a bite and it tasted like oversalted, burnt cardboard. My wife and I ate three or four of the small square pieces and ended up throwing the rest away. Maybe it is because we are not from here (California and Michigan), but we did not enjoy our pizza and will not be returning for more. Out-of-towners, Beware! This is not the pizza you are used to. Wait unitl someone else orders it, then try a piece. Maybe it has to grow on you, but we wasted alot of money.

  • Adam H.

Firstly this place is way too expensive for what you get. A tiny medium pizza with garlic as a topping that left my girlfriend and I hungry after eating it came out to $16 total. Secondly the one topping we did order was sparsely placed on the pizza so much so that you couldn't even taste it. Thirdly and this is minor they don't have breadsticks. What kind of lame pizza place doesn't have breadsticks? Guess that's why we were the only ones in there.

FIRST AND ABSOLUTE LAST TIME!!!! I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!! My husband and I tried out Fox's for the first time ever ( thought we might switch it up a little). We ordered food for our family and the next day my husband ( who is a vegetarian) became violently ill. Initially, we were not really sure why he was sick, especially since he hadn't eaten anything since the evening. We called over to Fox's with our concerns and we discovered that they put CHICKEN BROTH IN THE MASHED POTATOES!!!!! Who does that? My husband has not eaten meat in 20 years, and they just fed him meat potatoes. Gross! I thought the owner would be sympathetic- I was very wrong about that. Tom called me back and essentially told me that it was our problem and that is just the recipe. He didnt even apologize. He didnt even offer to refund the mashed potatoes. I guess some people dont care enough about their customers to try to make things right. Oh well- I guess we will have to find another local pizza place to frequent. I would suggest that all vegetarians stay away from this place though. I am sure you can find a restaurant that won't feed you MEAT POTATOES. I hope this helps-

This place has a decent pizza and I am always getting coupons to come back and get more pizza so of course I go back. The place has goo prices already so I am getting a real good deal. My favorite is the Meatzza pizza which has sausage, pepperoni, Italian beef, and ham on it which really tasty. They also have pretty good steaks and burgers here too. The service here is good for the the most part. Overall it is not going to be an earth moving dining experience but you will get consistency here. They do have private party rooms here too in case you have a group.

Not a bad lunch spot. While having my car serviced at a dealership a couple of blocks down the street, I decided to check this location out on a whim. Irish themed pub with a good amount of beer choices, as well as pizza and chicken wing choices. I wanted something light, and the food met my expectations. The IPA beer was Chicago-style heavy and hoppy, which is how I liked it. The server was good. Not great, yet good. I know that she had other a party of 12 ladies to deal with at the time, so I gave her a break. It just took a minute to get the check, as well as being somewhat light on the conversation. For some reason, the decor within the pub is more on the dark side, even in siting at the window. No matter. I chilled out, perused social media and had a couple of brews before I received the call that my car was ready to be picked up. Altogether, this is not a bad place to return to while in Oaklawn.

I came here on a Sunday night, and the place was pretty empty. The "live performance" was obviously lip-synced (some of the songs he sang himself; some of them were pre-recorded), but I wouldn't mind that at all. I came here for the food, right? Garlic Bread with Mozzarella: 1.5/5 -- Definitely one of the worst pieces of garlic bread I have ever had. Not crunchy, not flavorful, and the cheese was falling off the bread. The marinara sauce was bland. Eating the last bites of bread, I was hoping that the pizza would salvage the meal. Family Pizza 1/2 Veggies + 1/2 Fox'straditional Special: 2.5/5 -- The cheese was falling off the bread (again). Nothing particularly special about anything. Just the standard pizza with mediocre ingredients and flavor. Won't be back.

I went here for pizza and used the gift card I had from there. We ordered the waffle fries and two pizzas. The first pizza was a cheese and the other one was a meat pizza. I forgot the name of the meat pizza. The service was good. Nice and friendly people. When I got the pizza, everything was correctly ordered. The pizza was a little cold on the top of the pizza, but warm on the bottom. The pizza had good flavor to it, and it tasted good too. When I got the waffle fries, they were warm. The cheese tasted good on the waffle fries. The waffle fries were a little greasy, but had great flavor! I had a good experience, but the pizza needs to be warmer during delivery like they do in the restaurant. I will come back.

Okay, there's no 2 1/2 stars so this is the best we can offer. The place is clean, nice atmosphere. Service, eh, beer selection, eh, Italian beef....nasty!! Dry and served cold. However, a trip to the men's room and noticed, most everyone in the place was eating pizza....if I ever go back we may try that instead.

An incidental fire plug with a guitar and a box of wigs might be the only thing to bring me back to this family friendly - slightly over-priced pizza restaurant. The service was good - not great - but adequate. Our server was fair - she wasn't in a hurry - but she was okay. The food wasn't great. We got a veggie pizza which was not crisp and the veggies were canned. The worst culinary insult in the world - to me - is to serve canned veggies on a pizza. It is akin to taking a Sharpie to the Mona Lisa. If you are too lazy to prep fresh vegetables then don't make a "veggie pizza." Also the lure - for me - of a thin crust pizza - is the crispness. This pizza was soggy. Part of the reason you NEVER use canned vegetables is they result in a soggy pizza. The only pizza this place offers is thin - so they really need to get it right. The prices are a little out of line with the neighborhood - and the quality of the pizza. That neighborhood - and for that pizza -I think I overpaid by about $10.00. Now the reason I will go back is this guy who is a one-man band who plays everything from Elvis to Carley Rae Jepsen. He has the bass and drums going through a computer and into the sound system and he plays the guitar. He has a collection of wigs and funny hats that go with the song (including a faux-afro for his James Brown song). He looks like a cross between a fire-plug and a roll-on deodorant. We are taught disdain for these guys because they are so corny with the cheesey arrangements and the treacle happy birthday dedications. We are led to believe these guys aren't "cool." This guy (Carl Anthony) was having so much fun and singing his heart out - that I didn't mind sticking around until he finished his first set. If liking his show is wrong - i don't want to be right. I'll go back and try a beef sandwich - maybe a burger - but only if the fireplug is in the house. Other than him - and the surprising song choices and crazy wigs - there is no reason to go back there. Not in that neighborhood - not at those prices.

Once again this establishment is a tired little business. After experiencing the Orland Park location we made the trek to Oak Lawn last Christmas Eve hoping for a better experience. And once again had terrible terrible service and over priced poorly prepared food. Terribly loud atmosphere music wise and you could not even hear yourself talk. And a lot of the patrons who I assume are regulars are the most obnoxious people ever with their ethnic jokes about German and Polish people and management did not even attempt to stop it. My young daughter was frightened by a table of what were a bunch of drunken firemen or cops. Never again will I patronize this business.

I order a small pizza with spinach, hot peppers, mushrooms and pineapples and it was delicious. ....I usually order Beggars pizza more because of family and friends are more familiar with Beggars but I just realized I enjoy Fox's pizza more so than Beggars. The reason I enjoy Fox's pizza because it's just the right amount cheese. ...just enough. ...not too much. ....among the crest is delicious. ......a mobile ingredients were very fresh.......delicious.

I can't believe I've never reviewed Fox's. I have been coming here for years! I don't think I have ever been disappointed in a meal here. The prices are great and they usually have a different special each night. I believe Wednesday is half price pizza night. I've dined in, ordered delivery and pick up. I also catered a small Birthday party once and they handled everything very well. My favorites are the pizza and fettuccine alfredo with chicken (get the small portion from the value menu). When they get crowded the service tends to be a little spotty.

What great pizza! We came as part of a large group on a Saturday night with a lot of kids. Normally kids hardly eat at parties, but they were chowing down along with the adults. The staff was very friendly and the live entertainment had the kids singing along. A great family place.

Came here on 1/2 price Wednesday day got a pie kid wanted garlic bread and wife wanted mushrooms....I'm like $32 on half price day? Ok I get home look at my receipt and they charge $7.95 for about 15 breaded mushrooms...I understand half price but let's not price gouge your customers on something as simple as mushrooms turns out to be over 50 cent a mushroom maybe if they were homemade they would be worth that

Foxs is a great Oak Lawn establishment and I have been going there since I was a kid. They have some of the best thin crust pizza around Chicagoland and it is always consistently good. Their ribs are fall off the bone delicious with a great sauce. Thursday through Sunday they have live music and Dan McGuinness was our entertainer on this past Sunday night and he had us singing along with Sweet Caroline and Hello, Mary Lou and CCR covers that we didn't want to leave. They have a great beer selection too. Always so happy to see Lagunitas on tap. The atmosphere at Foxs is great too. Even people at other tables seem like old friends when you come here. This place is good for large groups or couples. The service is attentive and you will have a great time here if you go. Keep up the good work.

I came here with my boyfriend on Monday because they had half off the entire menu. Our waitress was nice but we had to keep asking her to refill our drinks. I ordered a burger and my boyfriend had a steak. He said his was really great I thought my food was ok. I think it was worth it at the 1/2 off price but not at full price.

Fox's did a lovely job for a post-funeral luncheon. Private room, courteous and prompt service, and at no time did we feel pushed to hurry up and leave. There was ample parking for a large crowd, and the food was hot, tasty and plentiful. We would have been happy with a luncheon of their fabulous hot rolls and exceptional minestrone soup, but everything else was almost as good, and the fried? broasted? chicken was perfect. A special request for a round of shots in honor of the departed was well handled. In short, I've been to a lot of places that claim to specialize in luncheons, but Fox's really delivered and hit the mark. I'd highly recommend it for anyone seeking a good place for their event.

The food was very good! The buffalo chicken flatbread was one of the best I have ever had. The lasagna, New Yorker corn beef sandwich, and the Italian beef were very tasty. Our server was very honest and helpful. Great spot for Cicero avenue.

While the building itself is nice, it's usually (in my experience) quite dirty and is lit like a Satanic christening. The waitresses have always been rude and food overpriced. I will admit a weakness for their cheese pizza-- it's by far the greasiest pizza in town, but it has a certain unique taste that I haven't found anywhere else. Even then, it's too expensive to justify getting more than once a year. True, they have live music sometimes. Do you want to watch a bunch of aging southsiders sing along to Irish tunes? I guess here's the place to do it.

My family and I went here yesterday for my husband's birthday. Once we were seated, our waitress gave us some of the worst service I have ever received. Her name was Pamela. We have to ask multiple times to get our drinks refilled and she gave my sister a "dirty martini" that was nothing but vodka. Pamela seemed like everyone else in the room was more important than us. She would not stay at the table longer than 15 seconds and never said one thing nice or even smiled. The food is the only reason I ranked fox's a 2/5. The food was pretty good: I have had pizza in the past that was fantastic, I had shrimp and bruschetta last night that was pretty good. I will definitely not be returning here. I will possibly order food for deliverty.

This is the worst pizza I ever had.. too much salt... not much sauce.. too pricy for salty pizza...

I recommend this place and would come back when I visit the area again. The appetizers were surprisingly big my party of 5 shared the sampler and pizza (both were delicious) and it was large enough to take home leftovers. The prime rib was pretty good, but my sister had the Alfredo and she said the sauce was kinda gritty, I personally didn't try it but I'm not a huge pasta fan. The staff was very friendly.

I know this place as just "Fox's Pub." The last time I ate here was with a friend. He ordered the pizza for us. The music was so loud that my friend didn't hear the waiter say "so you want the special?" So he just said yes. Little did we know that the special was most every topping you can think of on a pizza, lol. It was good but I didn't like the toppings on the pizza. I don't want to take away from the pizza itself. My friend didn't hear the waiter. Anyway, other than the toppings I didn't want on the pizza, it was good. He ordered a red beer which was great! I rarely drink but when I tried his beer, I liked it so I ordered one for myself. It was George Killian beer, really good. Everything I've tried in this restaurant has been good. I've been here many times and I've only been disappointed once but it wasn't that much of a disappointment so as to not return again. My last visit to Fox's Pub was the best for the music, the company and where we sat. :)

Come here every year around St Patrick's Day. The place is all decked out with an Irish theme, Irish music, even live music. The corn beef is really good, I like it when it's thin sliced. The pizza is also really good. The service was not great but for such a big party we had, staying over 3 hours, ill let it slide.

The grandparents nixed our idea of Top Notch -- they are creatures of habit and so forth -- so we ate dinner at Fox's at 4:15 on a Sunday. Hey, who am I to complain? This was a different and better experience than getting take-out from the Orland Park Fox's. The restaurant is fairly large, and pretty nice, with roll-y chairs for the tables, which is unusual. But, as other reviewers have noted, this is a big-time hangout for the seniors in the area. So the run-down: -Strawberry lemonade -- really just strawberry syrup from the bar + minute maid lemonade. Bit disappointing. -Irish nachos -- tons of cheese, good guacamole, the waffle fries are pretty tasty on their own even. Needed pico de gallo. (I love pico de gallo!) -Caesar salad - The dressing was good but NOT the traditional Caesar, more like a Caesar-Italian blend, not as creamy. Came with anemic tomatoes and crunchy homemade croutons. -My perch - a touch overcooked, but not too bad. Still tasty. Didn't realize the skin would still be on, and the skin wasn't crispy. Hmm. Turn the heat up on the pan and cook it just a hair less. -Baked potato - solid, nothing special. Husband reported his burger to be tasty and brought half of it home, which is rare. Grandma loved her filet, Grandpa enjoyed his shrimp. We passed on dessert, naturally, although they do have tiny-sized ones that look perfect if you don't want to share or have juuuust a sliver of room. And thus concluded another late-afternoon meal with the grandparents :)

First time I've ever been here. Crowded but comfortable. (For me, I personally like a quieter sort of atmosphere but it worked okay for me, crowd started dying down within an hour or so) Oh and I'll definitely have to agree with the other reviewers that it must be home to the 40s, 50s and 60's+ club. No harm in that unless you care to be around a young, wild & hip crowd. My entree or dinner of choice was a buffalo chicken, bleu cheese, salad & avocado wrap and DAMN was it good!! Very filling! Comes along with a side of choice, I went with the mashed potatoes. Yum. Very much worth the 8.99 + tax. Staff seems very courteous and respectful, Connie was our waitress and she was very sweet. My single complaint was that it took a little while's wait to get the food other than that, I WILL be back. :)

Been coming here off and on since May 1980 (Junior Prom).......I only order 2 things.......either the famous thin crust pizza (sausage only)....absolutely in my top 3 of Chicago pizzas OR the fried lake perch........I only eat fresh water fish and perch and walleye are my favorite. HINT: If you come in on Fridays during Lent, I think it is still all you can eat perch for like $15. Decor is a little dated; but the bartenders and wait staff are generally very friendly

I love super thin crust cheesy, saucy, and greasy pizza and if you do too then this is the place to go! Can be crowded on weekends but they have separate rooms for bigger parties. However, there can be a wait. The place is casual and they have many drink options.

Really? After all these years you have to rip me off with your outrageous prices and sub par food? So my man was all hot on his beloved Foxs sausage pizza tonite so I said ok. He ordered a small thin crust sausage which I have to say was pretty good if you love the fennelly sausage sweet sauce pie, which is not a taste I really dig but pizza is a personal thing so whatever. I opted for an order of fried mushrooms and a side Caesar salad. The mushrooms were $8.50 and consisted of 9 mushrooms and some mystery stems etc. doughy on the inside and not good although the tasty ranch disguised the bad shrooms. The salad had good ingredients but was scrimpy at best, 1/8 of a boiled egg, a whisper of tomato some lettuce croutons and decent fresh Parmesan with a dab of Caesar all of that for 5 bucks. Bottom line $36 for a small pizza, a few crappy shrooms and a mini salad with few ingredients besides lettuce delivered. I have sworn jihad on foxs for more than a couple of years but I mean its now, no more!

We went here following a funeral at Holy Sepulchre and they did a really good job with the lunch. We ordered family style, which I'm not a fan of, and the food was really good. The mashed potatoes, the soup, the chicken were all really good as was the pizza that we ordered alongside of the other other items. They gave us a separate room and when we arrived, we decided we wanted it re-configured so that it was conducive to one large group rather than separate, individual tables and they were very accommodating. I was very pleased with this, though I was a bit skittish going in. They did a great job.

I am a huge fan of Fox's, even though I know its not really the greatest at anything other than being itself. But don't we all just want to be loved for what we actually are? Fox's is a very comfortable place to hang out and focus on the people you're with, not the food. Its good for that because the setting is dark and intimate, the seating is comfortable like your couch, and the service is efficient and friendly but not effusive, so they keep you fed and watered without really being all that interested in you. It feels a bit like you're at a banquet party. Overall the food is definitely better than average, but its not really worth the trip just for the food. Head here with a big group of friends when you want to sit around and talk for a couple of hours. The pizza is really good but the beer list sucks.

Went here after my great grandmas' funeral. I usually don't YELP under such depressing circumstances, but I am doing it anyway. First off, they didn't have enough room for the whole party in the banquet room. Second, we got the Memorial Special. I ate lunch before because all the offerings didn't look that good. I will say one thing, the soup they had looked/smelled good. Salad and bread, standard, of course. They brought out fried chicken, roast beef au jus, potatoes swimming in butter, corn lathered in butter. I wish I would have been able to order something separate, but I will probably never go back again. I talked to my friend who lives in the area and he said the two pizza places to try are Vito and Nick's and Phil's Pizza. Billy Boys' and Pepes' were also recommended. I never knew Oak Lawn was so big. SOUTH SIDE!! The rating is low because the food didn't look great, smelled nice, and the waiter and waitress took like 15 minutes to get my dad a beer, and HOLY COW HE NEEDS HIS BEER ASAP! Plus, the whole not enough room thing and at a funeral? WTF MATE?
